Motoko Hara
is a Japanese illustrator and a book jacket designer living in NY.
++About++
Long long time ago, Motoko Hara was born in Yokohama, Japan. She has loved to draw and read books since she was a little girl. She was educated in Tokyo, and her major was ancient Japanese literature. In 2002, she came to NY because of her husband's job. In 2006, she started to learn drawing and watercolor. In 2007, she started to learn printmaking. In 2009, she went back to Japan...oh, no...OMG!! She was really sad to leave NY, but she returned to New York in the winter of 2014.
Since September 2014, she has been studying botanical art at New York Botanical Garden to challenge herself to learn something new.
You must think literature, illustration and botanical art are totally different, but she believes they should be connected and combined.
